Summary
José grew up in a construction family. His keen interest in architectural modelling in high school led to his completing his studies in architecture at the University of Cuernavaca (UAM) in Mexico in 1987. After college he was given a position at Posada Cuernavaca - a 5-star hotel, where he rose to the position of General Manager.

In 1990 he relocated to California, where his family had been visiting each summer, and moved back into construction for the Australian firm Britanica, then based in Mountain View. There he built large-scale concrete slabs for major retail projects, including all the Safeways being built at the time. To expand his skills he enrolled in HVAC school and took a position with Indoor Air Design in San Jose, specializing in mechanical heating and air conditioning systems for the next 5 years. He then joined Anthony Consulting Corporation, which led to a Construction Management position with ASI, there diversifying into all HVAC operations and related structural systems, commercial roofing (all types), T-bar systems, heavy construction (using cranes and helicopters), and even high technology clean rooms, in addition to running both general and specialized plumbing crews. This work grew into outside field and regional construction sales and management assignments, until he and Mark Torres formed T&R General Contractors in 2000. In 2002 he joined Arnell as a Project Superintendent, and soon became its Construction Manager - where today he is counted on to draw from and apply his extensive complement of diversified skills and experience.
