Ted Kokernak, a licensed California real estate broker, is a Senior Investment Associate and Director of the National Retail Group (NRG) and has been in Marcus & Millichap’s Palo Alto office since 1981. Mr. Kokernak specializes in anchored retail properties and single tenant net leased properties. Having closed over 300 transactions with values in excess of $700 million, Ted has been among the highest producing brokers at Marcus & Millichap nationwide. In 2003, he secured and represented the buyer in the sale of a $131 million property in Atlanta, the largest deal in Marcus & Millichap’s history. His extensive experience and expertise have resulted in ongoing relationships with numerous clients and developers who value his specialized understanding of the commercial real estate market. These attributes help him remain recognized as a leader in the commercial real estate industry. Ted graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Real Estate from The California State University at Hayward. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, (ICSC), The Urban Land Institute (ULI), and the Apartment Owner’s Association.

In addition to real estate brokerage, Ted is actively involved in real estate partnership formation, owning and operating Apartment properties, “big box” retail, and multi-tenant office buildings. He has been the representative Managing Partner for numerous buildings in the San Francisco Bay Area for over twenty years, acting as broker, arranging financing and coordinating major rehabilitation of partnership properties.

In 2005 Ted’s investment arm, The Kokernak Group, became a development partner with Arnell Enterprises, and Ted was appointed Arnell’s Vice President of Acquisitions and Sales.
